Catherine and Daniel planned a spring Cincinnati Club wedding but were met with unseasonably cold weather and 60 MPH wind gusts. In spite of thirty degree temps on their wedding day, the smiles never left their faces.
Family is so important to both of them, and it was obvious in every interaction with their parents and siblings. Catherine’s dad was so emotional that he decided to listen to the song he would dance to with his daughter on her wedding day… on loop during a three hour drive. His hope was to desensitize himself to it enough that he wouldn’t be crying the entire time during their dance – and it worked!
When asked how they met, Catherine and Daniel often joke they have the “romantic version” and the “real version”. In the summer of 2018, Catherine was working on her master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology at Marshall University in West Virginia. After graduating with a degree in Electrical Engineering, Daniel was living in Cincinnati and selling medical equipment. Catherine’s education and Daniel’s profession brought them both to Thomas Memorial Hospital in Charleston, WV. They joke that they saw each other from across the room in the hospital and it was love at first sight. However, despite spending weeks at the same location, they never actually crossed paths.
What Thomas Memorial did do for them was put them in close enough proximity to match on a dating app. On this particular app, the girl has to make the “first move”. Daniel’s profile said you could earn “bonus points” if you had a dog, so Catherine mustered up the best pickup line she could think of and hit him with, “I have a dog.” The rest is history!
Catherine and Daniel, we had the most wonderful time getting to celebrate with you two. Your relaxed attitudes, senses of humor, and gentle way of encouraging everyone around you made it such a joy to spend the day with you. We are so excited for you two to take on this next adventure together!
