Bride and Groom in Getaway Car

Spindletop Hall Wedding | Morgan + Kyle

Morgan and Kyle had a beautiful faith-filled Spindletop Hall wedding. I’ve actually known Morgan since she was in middle school and I was her cross country coach, so this was an extra special one for us. In fact, these two first met each other at Morehead State University where Kyle played football and Morgan was a distance runner on the cross country team. Shortly after they met, Kyle decided to transfer schools to pursue his football career. He didn’t stay long before he came back to Morehead State for a girl.

Four years later, after a surprise Pawley Island proposal on the beach with two of her closest friends there to help pull it off, these college sweethearts started planning their wedding at The Club at UK’s Spindletop Hall. The Morehead State Athletic Team Chaplain, who knew them both from their college days, made the trip to Lexington to perform their ceremony. Close family friends prayed over them in a quiet moment during the wedding. In every little detail, they prioritized keeping God at the center of their relationship and marriage.

In addition to making sure everything was meaningful and beautiful, Morgan and Kyle were intentional about which customs they incorporated into their wedding celebration. Exactly one month before they tied the knot, these two buried a bottle of bourbon, following a southern tradition thought to keep the rain away on their wedding day. Although they initially had a hard time finding the shovel and then the bourbon, eventually they were able to dig it back up and enjoy a shot together after they said, “I do.” (And their wedding day remained sunny from start to finish!) From the gorgeous white Bentley that Morgan and her dad made their entrance in to the macaroni and cheese bites they couldn’t wait for guests to get their hands on, every minute of their day was perfectly curated for them.

Morgan, I know pictures are a big deal to you. Preserving these moments and being able to look back on them forever. Telling your story for generations to come. I pray each one takes you back to a different beautiful memory of the day your forever love story officially began. Congratulation, you two – the best is yet to come!
