This Washington Park engagement session had been in the making for quite some time.

Katie’s first love was her sweet Yorkie, Beau. So naturally, Riley took her to the Washington Park dog park on their very first official date. Over the course of their relationship, the dog park remained a special place to the two of them, and earlier this year it was the spot Riley chose to propose. Engagement pictures are always such a perfect way to freeze this moment in time… the anticipation of spending forever together, the fun and quirky ways you interact that are unique to your relationship, your young and ready-to-take-on-the-world-together love. But taking them at a place as meaningful as this… there’s no better way to tell the story authentically and make the pictures that much more meaningful. (Except maybe to include that precious little Yorkie that brought them to the park in the first place!)

Katie and Riley, it’s obvious after spending about 5 seconds with you two how much fun you have together. You don’t take yourselves too seriously and you bring the party with you wherever you go, so you KNOW your wedding is going to be a BLAST! We can’t wait to celebrate with you guys at Ault Park in May!!

Our fall sessions have FINALLY been feeling like fall this past week or two, and we are LOVING IT (until tonight, when it suddenly turned into winter)! Dan and Danielle had the most perfect day with some gorgeous pops of color in the leaves for their fall engagement session last week.

From the railroad tracks to the tunnels and bridges, Sawyer Point is such a fun spot to stroll through and explore with our couples! Dan and Danielle, you two absolutely CRUSHED your session and we cannot wait for your beautiful farm wedding next summer!!

We always encourage our couples to think of a place with meaning to them for their engagement pictures. Sometimes that means the place where they got engaged. Or the place they first met. Or their favorite date night spot. Or the park they take their dog to every night. Or the place a family member works where they’ve always gotten special behind-the-scenes access.

In Abbey and Sam’s case, they are so easygoing and totally trusted us to choose a beautiful spot for their pictures. It wasn’t until I suggested the P&G Gardens that we knew it was the perfect option – this is where Abbey’s parents got engaged! We believe the legacy of love that will grow from your commitment to each other is one of the greatest gifts you could give your family, so it couldn’t have been better to go back and visit the place where her mom and dad made that same commitment all those years ago. Where they first decided they would love each other through the best and worst times. Where they had no idea the life they would build together and the places their young love would take them. I love to think about Abbey and Sam’s children cherishing these images and one day going back to this very same spot. Where Mom and Dad celebrated their engagement. Where Grandma and Grandpa got engaged. Where the legacy of love began.

This year, “fall” weather has been totally confused in the Cincinnati area. Jill and Latonio braved another one of our 95 degree September sessions, but you would NEVER know it by the fun they were having! We get so excited when previous couples send their friends our way, because we ALREADY KNOW they are going to be amazing before we even meet them. These two definitely kept that trend going – they were so natural together and just fun to hang out with!

Jill gave me the best compliment ever at the end of her session when she told me the pictures were so much “less terrible” than she expected. I was cracking up – if you’re getting married and you’re reading this, DO. NOT. STRESS. Most of our clients aren’t models and aren’t used to being in front of the camera, but I promise it will be easy and fun and you’ll look amazing! Jill and Latonio, we are SO excited to celebrate with you two at Hotel Covington in April!
