It was on a walk with their pup, Millie, at Cox Arboretum Metropark that Max popped the question and asked Emma to be his bride. So it was only fitting that we head back to capture their engagement sessions at the park where it all began!

Max was Emma’s college roommate’s brother, so they saw a lot of each other and eventually realized there was more than just a friendship there. Fast forward to today, and these college sweethearts now have full time jobs and a sweet fur baby… and they are planning a wedding! Miss Millie was a HOOT at the park. She just couldn’t contain her excitement to be out and about with her favorite humans! Photographing dogs is such a gift because they just exude the purest form of joy, but it’s also HILARIOUS because they don’t take posing direction all that well sometimes. 😉

These two are friends with one of our previous couples, which is an awesome bonus because it means we will get to have a mini Kortni and Chris Photography reunion on their wedding day! We never remember, but I need to start getting pictures of all of our previous couples when we see them at future weddings. It’s so fun for us to get to watch their love story unfold from buying their first house to navigating that first year of marriage to welcoming babies and pets and starting the process of growing old together.

Emm and Max, you two are absolutely adorable together. You didn’t stop laughing the entire time we were together, and it’s clear that you have a great time together. I loved getting to meet Mille and see what an awesome life you’ve given her – she is maybe the happiest dog in the world! You two have such positive attitudes and don’t take yourselves too seriously. Can’t wait to celebrate with you both when you officially say “I do” next fall!

Ashley and Anthony may be planning a destination wedding in San Diego, but they live and fell in love here. So Cincinnati Ault Park made a perfect backdrop for their engagement session! When Ashley first reached out, she knew it was really important to her to capture their love authentically rather than just doing a lot of stiff poses. These two have fun together, and we wanted to showcase that in their pictures! Honestly, that is the approach we take with every image we create. We always tell our couples we will still do some posing – putting them in beautiful light, flattering their figures with the way we have them stand together, fine tuning small details to make sure they each look their best. And while we always get a few classic shots of you two smiling for the camera, our main goal is to set up opportunities for you two to interact in ways that evoke genuine emotion and give you a chance to be YOU.

Even though we have a plan and similar approach to each session, no two are ever alike. Ashley was a little nervous at the start of the session, but you’d never guess it by the images!  Anthony knew the perfect combination of silly and sweet to pull out to set her at ease even with a stranger following them around with a camera.  One of the greatest gifts of this job is getting to know our couples, and these two were no different.  Ashley and Anthony, I had so much fun with you both!  You have the most amazing future ahead of you – can’t wait to see what your San Diego wedding day looks like!

Rachael and Bobby got lucky with the MOST perfect day to explore Eden and Smale Park together for their engagement pictures! It was filled with glowy light and gorgeous summer blooms. We started the day off at Eden Park, and there were more geese than I have ever seen roaming around EVERYWHERE. These two got a glimpse at my little known animal whispering skills while I encouraged the geese to disperse from the locations we wanted to shoot. 🙂

Unwanted wildlife aside, this session was perfect. Rachael and Bobby were a little nervous, but I think they absolutely killed it! We had so much fun getting garden vibes at Eden Park and then hopping out for some urban images with the city and bridge behind us at Smale Park. And Rachael was a trooper doing it all in these heels!

Rachael and Bobby, it’s obvious how much fun you two have together! We know you will throw and amazing party at Anderson Pavilion next summer, and we can’t wait!

Each year, Cottell Park shows off with sprawling fields of sunflowers. People come from miles away to enjoy their beauty, and it was the PERFECT backdrop to celebrate Laura and Matt’s engagement. Matt proposed with the help of their sweet pup, Sasha, so it was only fitting that she was a part of their engagement pictures! And she was the most amazing dog model ever – I’m convinced she was smiling for the camera a few times. 😉

Even though the weather threatened rain, we ended up with the most gorgeous day. Laura absolutely SLAYED in her yellow dress in the sunflower field, and the way Matt looked at her made it clear he noticed. While these two are planning their dream Hilton Head wedding for next year, I’m so glad we also got to capture some memories locally in the area they met and fell in love. Matt and Laura, congratulations on your engagement! You two are perfect together!
